Commercial cooking equipment for any kitchen or food service needs makes the restaurant and catering business far easier.

When you’re opening a restaurant of any kind, your best asset is always going to be having the ideal commercial cooking equipment to get your food prepared the right way. Caring for your customers is job one in an industry like this, and you just can’t do that with sup par equipment. You want to be able to make your customers the best, so that they enjoy every single bite that they take of your food. Otherwise it’s impossible to have repeat business, and you’ll find that you just don’t have many regulars, which are the backbone of any retail establishment. For that reason, commercial cooking equipment is key, and you should always look to invest in the best.

The first task will be setting aside enough money to really get your restaurant started. When you need a lot of commercial cooking equipment, it’s important to understand that it’s going to cost you. Cookware isn’t cheap, and that’s especially true of commercial alternatives. This is because restaurant quality cookware is meant to cook a lot of food perfectly every time, all day long. That means it’s built for quality, usability, and most of all durability. So don’t be afraid to invest, as the money that you spend today can really save you some cash down the line.

One of the first things that you’ll need to think about, is the cookware that you need to get the job done. There are a lot of different types of commercial cooking equipment out there, and choosing the ideal types for your restaurant is essential, so that you can have your food prepared the right way. One of the most important items to have on hand, is going to be a large convection oven, so that you can cook several different types of food all at once. But you will also want a prep table, as well as a lot of refrigeration space for storing items safely and successfully. Basically, you want to cover everything you would find in a standard kitchen, but on a larger scale, so that you can get it done in the restaurant environment.

Remember, it’s also important to go with trusted commercial cooking equipment brands, so that you can guarantee the quality of the product that you receive. You want to shop with companies that are widely respected for producing quality items that you can put your faith within. That means going with companies like KitchenAid, Vulcan, and Thermador, all of whom make ideal cookware that any kitchen can trust. While they may cost a little more, you’ll see a huge return in the quality of your food, as well as the durability of your kitchen altogether.

When you’re looking to outfit a kitchen with all new commercial cooking equipment, you’ll always want to order online. Online stores can give you great low prices that local establishments just can’t compete with, and they will allow you to set up your business in the right way, affordably. Through sites like WebstaurantStore.com and InstaWares.com you can find literally any type of commercial cooking equipment you could need, to get your restaurant off the ground in style.

Commercial restaurant equipment comes in the form of many supplies and parts for kitchen cooking, catering, and more.

For those thinking about opening a café or restaurant, there is much work and planning required in the preparation of this. Not the least of this is fitting out the premises and there is a range of commercial restaurant equipment required to get set up.

Commercial restaurant equipment comes in a range of categories and the size and type of equipment purchased will depend to a large part on the type of restaurant. Most will need some form of storage for food and this type of restaurant equipment includes shelving and cabinets. Shelving can be wall mounted or free standing and cabinets come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Refrigerators can be an important piece of equipment and these can include back of house chillers, fridges and freezers. These come in a variety of styles and can range from tall, one door fridges to larger walk in coolers. Some cafes may also have fridges at the front of house for drinks and snacks and these are usually glass fronted so that the contents are easily seen.

Cookers are also an important piece of commercial equipment required for a café or restaurant and these come in a range of styles. This can include equipment such as boilers, fryers, ranges, hotplates and rotisserie equipment. Depending on the type of food served, a restaurant may have one of these or a range of different cooking equipment to prepare the food.

Other commercial restaurant equipment can include larger sink units, dishwashers and display cases. Depending on the type of restaurant, there will be a range of commercial equipment required. It can be better to assess the equipment required at an early stage of planning such that premises can be identified that has room to accommodate this.

There are many manufacturers that produce commercial equipment for restaurants with most tending to specialize in one type of equipment. Traulsen, for example, produces some of the best refrigerators and freezers around while Pitco is one of the leading manufacturers in fryers and frying filters. Other manufacturers include Star, AIS International, Blodgett and Vulcan. However, there are many more manufacturers and depending on the type of equipment required it is worth doing a little research on those available before making a purchase.

There are a few options available for purchasing commercial restaurant equipment. One of the best ways can be lease to own as this requires a smaller cash outlay in the initial stages of setting up, with the balance paid over a set period of months. However if you have the money available in the initial stages of setting up there are also a number of retailers that sell new and used commercial equipment for restaurants. The internet can be a good place to look for these with My Chef Store and A City Discount being a couple of the companies that have equipment available.

Setting up a café or restaurant takes some preparation and identifying the commercial restaurant equipment required is a part of this. There is much to choose from and taking the time to select the best and most affordable should ensure your restaurant gets off to the best possible start.

Repair and Maintenance

Commercial refrigeration repair comes up from time to time, as service and maintenance is needed through either contractors or equipment.

While most refrigeration equipment tends to be fairly reliable and long lasting these days, problems can occur from time to time and fridges and freezers can break down. It therefore pays to know the commercial refrigeration repair options available to ensure that any problems can be dealt with quickly and efficiently.

There are a number of businesses that can use commercial refrigerators and freezers. Some of these include stores and retailers which sell frozen food and also restaurants and cafes with a requirement to store food. Commercial refrigerators are therefore common pieces of equipment that are extensively used and there are a number of manufacturers that produce these.

While frozen food and ice cream will last for a long time if it is kept frozen, it can spoil fairly quickly if it is allowed to defrost. A broken fridge or freezer therefore can not only be an annoyance but can cost money in terms of the food which may be lost. Ensuring a refrigerator is repaired quickly therefore can be a priority if problems occur.

One way to avoid potential problems with refrigeration equipment is to have it serviced on a regular basis. While this is an additional cost, in the long run it can be more cost effective than having to repair or replace equipment. Servicing equipment can help to ensure it will have a longer life. However if problems do occur with your refrigeration equipment there are a number of companies that provide commercial refrigeration repair services.

There are a number of ways to find commercial refrigeration repair service companies. If you know other retailers in your area it can be a good option to ask them for advice as they may know and be able to recommend a local repair company that can provide a reliable, efficient service. Other than this, a local directory should be able to point you in the direction of companies that provide repair services for commercial refrigerators. The internet is another good resource and a simple search should provide information about refrigeration service and repair companies.

Some of the companies that provide commercial refrigeration repair include Mr. Appliance, Airflow Appliance Repair and LA Fixit. However, these are only a few of the companies around the country that provide refrigerator repair services and it pays to do a little research such that if a problem does occur with your equipment you are in position to have it dealt with quickly. Some of the larger commercial refrigerators and freezers are capable of holding thousands of dollars worth of supplies. Ensuring that a problem is dealt with in a timely manner therefore will ensure that the food and the money it cost to buy are not lost.

Commercial refrigerators and freezers are an essential part of many businesses. Keeping these in good working order is important, especially for larger refrigerators which may hold a lot of supplies. Having the details of a reliable commercial refrigerator repair service available is therefore a common sense thing to do prior to any problems occurring. This ensures that if, and when, a problem does happen you are in a position to deal with it promptly.

A commercial ice cream freezer can be a great display piece, with upright and chest models widely available.

Most people enjoy the taste of ice cream and it is a great treat to have on a hot summer day. For this reason it is sold in a number of outlets and the easiest way to do this is with a commercial ice cream freezer. This type of equipment has been around for many years and is widely available on the market.

Ice cream can be sold in a few different ways. Pre-wrapped ice cream such as that found in cartons and individual lollipops is one way. Another is fresh, flavored ice cream which can be used to make traditional cones and wafers. This tends to be known as scoop ice cream. To keep the ice cream cold in a retailer or café a commercial ice cream freezer will be used and these come in a range of styles depending on the way the ice cream is sold.

A commercial ice cream freezer that is used to hold fresh ice cream tends to be known as a dipping cabinet. This is typically a steel chest with a top that has glass on the customer side and an open space on the serving side to provide access to the ice cream. These vary in size and can typically have anything from four to more than twenty containers which hold the ice cream. The benefit of these is that the top provides a covering for the ice cream while the customer can easily see the flavors of ice cream available.

If you want to serve pre-wrapped ice cream, a commercial ice cream freezer typically comprises a steel chest with a sliding glass lid. These are usually self serve and the glass top helps to maintain a cool temperature plus allows the customer to easily see the contents of the freezer.

If you are considering buying an ice cream freezer for commercial purposes there are a number of manufacturers that produce them. Some of those to consider include True Manufacturing, Turbo Air, Caravell and Arctic Air. These companies produce a range of freezer chests and dipping cabinets in a range of sizes and styles.

The cost of ice cream freezer equipment for commercial purposes will typically depend on the size and the maker. Smaller display freezers can be purchased for around $500 to $600. However larger equipment will be more expensive with some of the bigger dipping cabinets costing in the region of $4,000 to $5,000 to purchase.

The internet can be one of the best places to find commercial ice cream freezer equipment for sale with some of the online retailers including A Best Kitchen and Ice Cream Equipment World. If you prefer buying in person then the websites of the manufacturers are generally the best place to find dealers and retailers that stock their products. Most have details of these including locations and contact information.

If you want to sell ice cream in a store, café or specialty shop then a commercial ice cream freezer equipment is a basic requirement. They come in a range of styles and sizes and are widely available. Whatever your needs, with a little research you should be able to find ice cream freezer equipment that suits these.

A commercial glass door refrigerator is an attractive and useful means of beverage refrigeration and food storage.

A commercial glass door refrigerator is a common piece of equipment and can be found in a number of different outlets. This can include shops and stores which sell cold drinks, ice cream and snacks and also fast food outlets, cafes and restaurants. This means there is a reasonable demand for these types of fridges.

The obvious benefit of using a commercial glass door refrigerator is that the contents of the fridge can be seen. This means that a customer can select a purchase without having to open the fridge door and only needs to do so when they have decided what they want. It can also mean that there is more chance that someone will buy something from the fridge as the contents are on display. Even if someone is just passing the fridge they may see something they like and decide to buy.

There are a few different varieties of commercial glass door refrigerator available. There is a range in the size and also the means of opening the door. Smaller glass door fridges which can be placed on a counter top are available and these can be ideal for drinks cans and bottles. However larger fridges are also available and these can typically come in one door, two door or three door models.

If you have a smaller store or café where space is limited then it can be a good idea to get a sliding glass door fridge rather than a hinged door model. This means the fridge can be fitted into a smaller area as room to pull the door open is not required. Rather, the doors on this type of fridge are set on tracks. To open them you simple pull them sideways and they slide open along the track.

There are a number of manufacturers that produce commercial glass door refrigerator. Some of these include Turbo Air, True Manufacturing, ATC Coolers and Traulsen. These produce a range of commercial refrigerators with glass doors in a variety of styles and sizes to suit all purposes. However these are only a few of the many manufacturers and it can be worth doing a little research before you purchase to find the best fridge.

The cost of a commercial glass door refrigerator will depend on a few factors. The size is obviously one of these and whether you buy a new or used fridge will have an impact on the price. However smaller glass door refrigerators can be found on sale for around $300 to $500. The ATC Coolers 2 cubic feet, one door counter top fridge is an example of this and costs around $330 to purchase. This is a pre-painted steel cabinet with glass door and is capable of holding around 50 16 ounce cans or over 30 20 ounce bottles.

If you are looking for a larger floor standing, glass door commercial refrigerator these are more expensive with some of the larger three door models costing up to around $8,000 to purchase. An example of this is the Hussman 66 cubic feet, three door fridge which has lockable glass doors. Each section comes with four adjustable shelves and a bottom rack and this fridge costs around $8,300 to purchase.

For a store, café or restaurant a commercial glass door refrigerator can be an excellent purchase. It is a simple way to ensure that customers can see the products you have on offer and this in turn can help to increase sales.

A commercial chest freezer is a great choice for ice cream and frozen food.

There are many businesses that will find a use for a commercial chest freezer and they are a fairly common piece of equipment on the market these days. Some of the businesses that use them include stores and retailers selling frozen food and also cafes and restaurants that need to store food for a period of time.

A commercial chest freezer can come in a variety of styles and sizes. Those that are typically used in stores comprise a steel chest with a sliding or hinged glass top. This enables frozen food to be displayed and easily seen by the customer and there is a variety of foods that can be stored in these. Typical of this is ice cream although frozen meals, vegetables and other foods can also be stored and displayed for sale in these.

The type of commercial chest freezer used in a café or restaurant is similar in style to those used in stores although will typically have a solid rather than a glass lid. This is usually is hinged and is flipped up to see the contents. The size of chest freezers for commercial purposes can typically be larger than those used in a home and sizes up to 20 cubic feet or larger are available. The size you purchase will obviously depend on your storage requirements.

Another factor to take into consideration is whether to purchase frost free or manual defrost equipment. Manual defrost tend to be more energy efficient although periodically the freezer will need to be emptied and defrosted. Frost free equipment can be more convenient although is typically more expensive to use.

Some of the manufacturer names to consider if you are looking into purchasing a commercial chest freezer include Frigidaire, Arctic Air and Summit Appliances. These produce a range of chest freezers for commercial use although they are only a few of the many manufacturers that make this kind of equipment. It is therefore worth doing a little research prior to purchasing to find the best freezer to suit your needs.

There are a number of outlets that a chest freezer for commercial purposes can be found for sale. The manufacturer’s websites can be a good place to find the dealers and retailers that stock their products and they usually have address and contact details shown. This can be the simplest way to find if there is a dealer in your area. There are also a number of internet retailers that have equipment for sale and typical of these is Food Service Warehouse, C Kitchen and My Chef Store.

The cost of a commercial chest freezer can be relatively affordable in comparison to other types of refrigerators. Many can be purchased for less than $1,000 although the cost of some of the larger freezers may rise to above this. It can also be more costly for a freezer with a glass top as opposed to a solid top. Many retailers also sell used chest freezers and this can be a way to reduce the cost of purchase.

For businesses that sell or have a requirement to store frozen food, a commercial chest freezer can be a good option to consider. They can be one of the most affordable refrigeration options and with the size and storage space they offer, this can make them excellent refrigeration equipment to consider.

Commercial refrigeration must be reliable in any restaurant, both refrigerators and the freezers.

The world of commercial refrigeration is one that every restaurateur should know about, especially before opening up a restaurant. Having the right refrigerator for your restaurant can be one of the key factors in determining the success of your business.

There are many factors that may be impacted by your choice of commercial refrigeration device. Let’s take a look at a few of these.

First, there’s the quality of your food. Storing your foods and beverages at the right temperatures can have a profound impact on the taste and quality of the food or meals served inside your restaurant or bakery. You want something that reliably cools things at the temperatures that you specify.

There’s also the look and feel of it. Some restaurants choose to display their commercial refrigeration equipment somewhere within plain view of their patrons. As a result, the’yll want an attractive display that either looks as if everything is being reliably cooled, or one that’s transparent (such as a commercial glass door refrigerator) that visibly showcases some of the food inside it.

Accessibility is also a key factor when it comes to commercial kitchen refrigeration. Every business will need something that’s easy to access, and a commercial refrigerator that also adequately fits everything that needs to be stored away. There are other businesses that might depend on the mobility of the unit, as there are some wheeled commercial refrigerators that allow their owners to transport them to different locations as needed.

Regardless of your needs, you’ll be glad to know that there are may commercial refrigeration manufacturers offering some great cooling solutions for sale. Speaking of which, it’s also important that you go with a reliable name you can be sure to trust.

After all, many refrigerators experience technical issues at some point or another. If you need commercial refrigeration parts in order to replace any faulty pieces, you’ll want to work with a supplier who you know you can rely upon to deliver these replacement parts in a timely manner. You’ll also want to make sure that their parts are reasonably priced.

There are features that you may or may not need in your commercial refrigerators too. Some of the more notable ones include the following:

Dehumidifiers

If the moisture level of your refrigerator is of importance to you, you’ll want to look for a commercial refrigeration device with dehumidifiers to control humidity levels.

Freezers

Do you want a freezer that comes along with your commercial refrigeration solution? Not all units are commercial refrigerators with freezers, so this is something you’ll specifically have to look for if you feel that you need one.

Energy Efficiency

The energy output of any commercial fridge may have a profound impact on your electrical bills. Pay attention to this an consult an expert in advance if you’re unsure about your needs and the implications. Anything energy efficient will result in lower bills, which is always a plus.

These are just some of the many factors that should go into any commercial refrigeration purchase. We’ll be discussing some more specific styles here and reviewing some associated products too. Take in all that we have to offer, and use it to your advantage when making a purchase.

Commercial walk in freezers and coolers are an ideal solution for freezing needs.

Commercial walk in freezers can be a great asset if you’re running a business that has the need for a large freezer space.

Depending upon the type and size of food being served (i.e. ice cream), they me be entirely necessary. If you’re buying a commercial walk in cooler for the first time, or simply looking for a new unit, you can find a surprisingly strong selection of them online. Let’s take a look at a few products that may be of interest to you.

One popular walk in commercial freezer is one sold by Bush Refrigeration.

The Bush walk in commercial freezer comes with indoor and outdoor condensing units. It also comes with diamond plating and hard wearing reinforced flooring. For many people, their attractive lease/purchase schemes should make great sense if you’re not into the idea of paying everything outright. Since many restaurants fail, the idea of leasing a commercial walk in freezer before buying it makes perfect sense.
Used commercial refrigerators can be bought at discount prices from former businesses.

I’ll be honest with you here. Buying used commercial refrigerators is really risky! There are realistic risks that it’ll break down at random in the middle of business hours. That involves two costs for you – the cost of repairing, and the opportunity cost of business lost during that repairing time.

Despite this, sometimes you may face financial limitations and buying a used one seems to be the best way to go after all. That’s where this article comes into play.

I’d like to inform you of the issues you should look into while buying a secondhand commercial refrigerator. Putting it straight, this article tells you how to stay on the safer side (if not the safest side) of things when buying used commercial refrigerators and freezers.

Step 1

Thoroughly evaluate the used commercial cooler. Here is a problem though. There’s no known surefire way for evaluating the inner condition of a compressor. Nevertheless, you can use some key indicators as your yardstick. You may even want to consult an experienced mechanic for this.

Step 2

Add up the cost of repairing. There are many surprisingly cheap models out there in “semi-good” condition, as the sellers would put it. Don’t just jump for these! Figure out what the repairing needs of this used commercial fridge may be. Add up the cost of repairing with the purchasing price. This way, the seemingly lucrative deal might ultimately wind up as an unattractive one. Remember that in the market of used restaurant equipment, you can always move on!

Step 3

Probe the refrigerator cabinets. Do they look good? If they look a bit worn out, move on! And what about the door? Does it close securely and tightly? Do the lights get turned off as you close the doors? Probe the gaskets to detect areas splitting, pulling loose, or drying out. Keep both eyes open for cracks on the walls – especially on the doors inside the compartments and units. Be sure to thoroughly check for ones that might need repair.

If any of the above mentioned checks prove to show faultiness, this might cause the refrigerator to run for excessive times. You might also see the evaporator icing or occasional compressor failures, so watch out!

Step 4

Check the evaporator of any used commercial refrigerators. The evaporator happens to be a box that has a fan inside the unit. See whether each and every part is securely fastened. You shouldn’t buy a product that has bent parts. Pour a little bit of water into the refrigerator’s drain pan (it remains attached beneath the evaporator) for ensuring that the drainage is okay.

Check whether all fans are running. Some units come equipped with door switches cutting them off. In that case, hold the switches in for making them run. See if there is any metallic noise caused by the fan (it’s a really bad sign if this does exist). See whether the blades of the fans are symmetrical and nick-free.

Pay special attention to the aluminum evaporator fins in a used commercial refrigerator. If you have to, carefully take off a panel for checking closely. But be sure to unplug the unit before doing this. See if there is any corrosion/deterioration. Those are sharp fans, so be careful and make sure that the refrigerator is unplugged.

A bad evaporator can cause compressor failure. An evaporator replacement can cost almost as much as a compressor change.

Step 5

Check the condenser of any used commercial refrigerators. It’s basically a part of the compressor. It there is a full sized unit, it should be on top or beneath the unit. If you see a smaller unit, look for it on an end part or at the rear of that unit.

Now put your hands on the compressor (the large black thing that has a tube coming out of it). There might be two tubes in rare instances though. Unplug the unit and try to rock that compressor a little bit. If you are unable to do that, this means the shipping bolts have never been loosened and that might have left the compressor internally damaged.

Check the condenser coils, the fan blade, and the cowl lying around the fan. When you find those dirty, there are strong possibilities that compressor is damaged. Same goes if the fans of the condenser are greasy.

Following these five steps should at least put you on a safer side as you shop for used commercial refrigerators. As always, proceed with caution and be mindful of any and all potential issues.
